MIRI: Residents, whose houses along Sungai Niah, in Batu Niah town were destroyed by fire, have received assistance.
Women, Family and Childhood Development Assistant Minister Rosey Yunus presented donations in the form of household goods to the fire victims yesterday.
No one was injured in the Friday night incident.
The Batu Niah volunteer firefighting squad managed to put out the fire in two houses before it could spread.
Ten volunteers arrived at the scene at 9pm and managed to control the fire 15 minutes later. The whole operation ended at 9.45pm.
