Firefighters busy on sanitisation duties

Firefighters and health officials conduct sanitisation at the home of a confirmed Covid-19 patient in Kota Samarahan.

KUCHING: Fire and Rescue Department personnel yesterday carried out sanitisation and disinfection of several public places in the city to prevent the spread of Covid-19 virus.

A team from Petra Jaya Fire Station conducted sanitisation activities at Surau Darul Amin, Kampung Semariang Jaya, and Phase Two while their counterparts from Tabuan Jaya Fire Station sanitised and disinfected the Bintawa Hawker Centre and Bintawa Wet Market.

Personnel from the Batu Lintang Fire Station also carried out sanitisation work at the Third Mile wet market and bazaar.

In a related development, firefighters from the Kota Samarahan Fire Station led by their chief Muhammad Syamil Mustafa Kamal went to sanitise and disinfect the house of a Covid-19 patient at the epicentre.

The exercise was jointly carried out with health officials.
