BINTANGOR: A kitten got itself in deep trouble at the Bintangor market here.

At around 8.35am on Monday (March 14), members of the public heard the kitten yowling and searched the area before finding it trapped inside a manhole.

A spokesman from the Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) said the Good Samaritans attempted to rescue the feline but failed and contacting Bomba for help.

Firefighters from the Bintangor station were quickly deployed to the scene.

They took about seven minutes to rescue the kitten with special equipment before handing the animal over to its owner.

Although weak, the kitten did not suffer any injuries.
