SIBU: Heavy rain caused landslide that affected the kitchen of a house at Machan Kanowit Town Road here yesterday.
The State Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) Operations Centre (PGO) received a report on the incident at 3.15pm and six members of the Kanowit Fire and Rescue Station (BBP) led by PBK II Mohd Mohamad Bujang were deployed to the scene in a Light Fire Rescue Tender (LFRT).
The firefighters found that a portion of the 40 by 60 square foot home that was under construction had been affected due to the landslide.
He said while the operation ended at 4.39pm they would continue to monitor the area for new development.
