KUCHING: The State Fire and Rescue Department (BOMBA) in collaboration with Shell distributed savoury porridge or bubur lambuk under its Celik Sedia Urus Risiko Isi Rumah (Celik SURI) at its headquarters here.
State BOMBA director Datuk Khirudin Drahman who officiated at the programme disclosed that it is part of the efforts to strengthen the department and Shell’s strategic partnership.
Elaborating, he said the programme also serves as one of the platforms to disseminate fire safety messages the local community.
“A total of 600 packets of bubur lambuk were distributed to our fire personnel, Shell officers, orphanages, care centres and nearby mosques.
“The ingredients to make the bubur lambuk were sponsored by Shell, but our fire personnel prepared and delivered the bubur lambuk to the recipients,” he said on Tuesday (April 26).
Khirudin added that the programme includes talks and demonstration to Celik SURI participants consisting of Shell officers.
Also present were Shell District Manager Yaakub Tuarang, Deputy Director Tiong Ling Hii, Fire Safety Division Assistant Director Mohamad Fauzi Mohamat Kifli and Shell Senior Territory Manager Alex Pega.
