BINTANGOR: A seven-year-old boy was rescued by Bintangor Fire and Rescue personnel after he fell asleep in a locked car here on Monday. The car had automatically locked itself.

Bintangor Fire and Rescue chief Nicholas Belulin said a team of firefighters were despatched to the scene after receiving an emergency call from the boy’s mother at 6.40pm.

“The team took about seven minutes to get the boy out of the car,” he added.

“Before making the emergency call, the mother tried to unlock the car herself but to no avail.

“We managed to open the car door using the help of a ruler. The operation ended at 7.01pm,” added Nicholas.
