MIRI: Bomba Special Air Services (PASKUB) yesterday morning transported several fire extinguishers and 11 firemen to longhouses in Bario.
According to Miri zone 6 fire chief Supt Law Poh Kiong in a statement, the fire personnel included three from Marudi. The helicopter landed in Bario at 11.13am.
The fire extinguishers were contributed by various non-governmental organisations (NGOs).
The villagers will be trained on fire safety as part of the volunteers to battle fires in longhouses.
