BINTULU: A double-storey house and two vehicles at Rancangan Perumahan Rakyat (RPR) Kidurong Phase 3 here was gutted by fire on Sunday (March 21).

Local fire chief Christus Buson said his station received a call about the blaze at 3.40am.

His men who were quickly despatched to the scene successfully put out the blaze, after which they assessed that the fire had caused 70 percent damage to the house and the vehicles parked in its car porch.

There were no casualties and the firemen returned to their station at around 6.10am.

The cause of the fire and losses incurred are still being investigated.

Meanwhile in Kuching firemen from Batu Lintang station extinguished a fire that was engulfing a car, a motorcycle and a car porch ceiling at a house in Kung Ping Height, Mile 4, Jalan Penrissen, at 5.40pm last Saturday (Mar 20).

There were no casualties as the house occupants managed to get out to safety.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
