KUCHING: UMW Toyota’s chief motorsports officer, Akio Takeyama, accompanied by Tengku Djan Ley, a well-known racer especially in drifting, has announced that GR Garage is making its appearance in Malaysia.

Selected dealers will set up a ‘Shop in Shop’ concept to sell GR products. There will be five outlets — three in the Klang Valley, and one each in the north and south regions. The concept was first introduced in Japan and Malaysia is the first outside Japan to also offer it.

“The TGR Festival, Vios Challenge and Toyota Velocity Esports Championship have shown how Toyota is injecting more passion into its activities,” said Takeyama while introducing the all-new Toyota GR Supra recently.

“However, we find that this is not enough. So we have come up with the GR Garage, a place for customers to gather and interact.”

The on-the-road selling price without insurance of the GR Supra starts from RM568,000 for private registration in Malaya.
