First Smart City Industrial Lab in Sarawak launched

KOTA SAMARAHAN: Universiti Malaysia Sarawak (Unimas) and Kiwitech Sdn Bhd has jointly launched first Smart City Industrial Laboratory in Sarawak at Level 1, Faculty Engineering, Unimas, yesterday.

The collaboration has commenced with the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) Singing Ceremony which took place in Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre (KLCC), October last year.

The Lab which fully operated by the Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering, Unimas was graced by Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Student Affairs and Alumni) Unimas, Professor Mohd Fadzil Abd Rahman, and Managing Chairman Kiwitech Sdn Bhd, Dato’ Adly Effendi Hasan.

Unimas-Kiwitech Smart City Industrial Laboratory will be used as a platform for both students and the staffs of Unimas to conduct teaching, learning and research.

Also present were Mayor of Kuching North City Hall (DBKU) Datuk Abang Abdul Wahap Abang Julai and Walikota Kota Samarahan Municipal Council Dato’ Peter Minos.
