MUKAH: An eight-foot long crocodile was found in an exhausted and weakened condition by a fisherman in Mukah here yesterday.

The fisherman, Nawawi Sami, 57, found the crocodile around 10am after it being electrocuted in his attempt of catching fish using electric shock technique in the Muut River here.

Nawawi said, he was very surprised see a crocodile weakened by the shock and it swam unsteadily due to its weak condition towards his boat.

He added, “I then took out a machete and killed it because the crocodile was very intimidating and was about to fight despite it’s seemingly weak condition.”

Nawawi also said, he was also worried if he did not act like that (kill the crocodile), it might cause his boat to capsize or turn upside down if the crocodile were to attack him, thus endangering his life.

“This is the second time crocodiles being found in this river and this brings concerns and worries among us,” he added.
