MUKAH: The local police have arrested five Indonesians at an unnumbered house in Sungai Liuk, Balingian near here.

In the house, the police also found three homemade air rifles, two bottles of methanol and 20 marbles.

Mukah District police chief DSP Jimmy Panyau said during the operation around 9pm last Saturday there were four Indonesians, three men and a woman, aged between 19 and 31.

“They did not have passports and valid indentification documents. The raiding team seized all the aforementioned items,” he said in a statement via WhatsApp the day after the raid.

He added that another Indonesian, a 23-year-old man, was arrested at a living quarters for workers in the area around 10.30pm following initial investigation.

Jimmy said the last suspect admitted that all three air-rifles were made by him at the unnumbered house.

The arrestees are being detained in the local police lock-up while the case is being investigated under Section 8 (a) of Arms Act 1960, and Section 6 (1) (c) of Immigration Act 1959/1963 (Amendment 2002).
