KUCHING: Five students of Kuching Community College majoring in Fashion and Apparel Certificate received sewing machine in a virtual ceremony held on Wednesday (March 3).

The donations were from the Malaysian Creative Sewing Arts Association (PSJKM) through the Polytechnic and Community College Education Department (DPCCE)’s Entrepreneurship and Alumni Unit, Student Recruitment and Development Division (BAPP).

The students were part of 79 Community College students nationwide who were selected to receive corporate social responsibility (CSR) contributions by PSJKM in conjunction with the successful opening ceremony of 100 The Tunku Azizah Handmade Market Online stores.

The ceremony was officiated by Raja Permaisuri Agong Raja Permaisuri Agong Tunku Azizah Aminah Maimunah Iskandariah as the patron of PSJKM.

The symbolic handing over of sewing machine donations to students was presented by the PSJKM director Suharyati Sulaiman to the recipients coming from the B40 group families.

All students who received donations were given entrepreneurship training as well as training in the use of sewing machines to enable them to carry out entrepreneurial activities and online sales.

The students were Nur Farah Hanani Shamsuri, Dayang Nur Syazawani Awang Rosli, Assya Ros Fatin Othman, Danial Dharmadie Hamzah Ar-Ainny and Nur Nisrina Narawi.
