KUCHING: Due to the heavy downpours and frequent flash floods, SUPP Public Complaints Bureau (SPCB) chief, Wilfred Yap saw the need to have an emergency meeting and discussion with Chok Moi Soon, Director of Drainage and Irrigation Department (DID) at Wisma Saberkas on the flash flood problem at Lorong Lapangan Terbang 4, Kuching.

During the meeting with other SUPP youth leaders, Yap expressed and voiced the concerns and predicament of the residents and requested the DID to pay special attention to the flash flood problem at Lorong Lapangan Terbang 4, Kuching which is caused by the slow flow of rain water due to the overgrown weeds in the drains and impeded water flow in the culvert under Jalan Lapangan Terbang.

He made an appeal for DID consideration to urgently clear the weeds on the earth drain along Jalan Lapangan Terbang and clear the dirt in the culvert under Jalan Lapangan Terbang as a short term measure and thanked them for their concern on the matter.
