KUCHING: The Taman Sri Malihah flat residents here are advised to honor their rental and maintenance fees to avoid issues regarding the facilities in their housing area.

Works Minister Datuk Seri Fadillah Yusof said apart from their rental fees, they must also pay maintenance fees in order that the developer can properly provide the maintenance services.

“The flat owners want their units to be in good condition. However, if the maintenance fees are not paid, the developers would not have sufficient funds to maintain the buildings.

“That is why I am meeting the people here to explain the matter to them. More importantly, I want to listen to their grouses so that we can address them together with the Housing Commission and Daya Builder Sdn Bhd.

“Today, representatives from the various agencies are here. Hopefully, we can all find solutions to the issues,” he said.

Fadillah was speaking to reporters after the dialogue session with Taman Sri Malihah flat residents held at Taman Malihah Multipurpose Hall, Matang, near here yesterday.

Fadillah, who is also Member of Parliament for Petra Jaya, noted that among the issues highlighted by the residents involved access to flat buildings, carparks and the condition of certain blocks.

“Some of the complaints were about gutters which were not properly repaired and services undertaken by Trienekens on the rubbish collection frequency to be increase,” he said.

Also present were Senator Zaidi Suhaili.
