KUCHING: Personnel from the 11th Battalion General Operation Force (GOF) seized a gun, knife and motorcycle left behind by a fleeing youth at the border with Indonesia near Bau during an ‘Ops Batas Risik’ on Tuesday evening.
Earlier the GOF personnel had tried to stop the motorcyclist who was riding in a suspicious manner.
The youth however abandoned his machine and fled to the Indonesian side of the border.
The GOF personnel found a gun and knife beside the motorcycle.
Police later confirmed that the motorcycle was stolen in Bau on February 27 this year.
Meanwhile, 11th Battalion commanding officer, Supt Rosdi Inai said the ‘Ops Batas Risik’ was an ongoing operation against motorcycle theft and violent crimes in the towns and border areas in Bau and Lundu.
