KUCHING: Several flood-hit villages in Marudi have received basic food supplies.

Assistant Minister of Local Government and Housing, Datuk Dr Penguang Manggil, who is also Marudi assemblyman, helped to send the food supplies.

“Today, Beluru District Officer Alfred Geling and I are assisting in sending the basic food supplies to flood victims stranded in their respective villages,” he said in a Facebook post on Monday (Sept 21).

The food supplies were distributed to Kampung Long Teran Kiri, Long Teran Kanan A, Long Teran Kanan, Long Teran Batu, Rh Joben and Rh Jarau in Long Tabing, Rh Francis Ubi Long Jegan and Rh Dennis Long Jegan.


Besides that, SK Long Teran, Long Teran Clinic, SK Long Jegan and Long Jegan Clinic also received the assistance.

Penguang also expressed his appreciation to the District Disaster Community which comprised the District Office, Welfare Department, Sarawak Public Communication Unit (Ukas), Royal Malaysian Police (PDRM), Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba), Malaysian Civil Defence Force (APM) and People’s Volunteer Corps (Rela) for ensuring that the assistance was channelled quickly.
