KABONG: Students who will be sitting for the Ujian Penilaian Sekolah Rendah (UPSR) have been advised to focus properly in order to achieve great success in the future.

In giving the advice, Kabong assemblyman Mohd Chee Kadir said UPSR was not a regular examination but a determinant of higher achievements.

“Therefore, do not take it lightly and assume that there are other exams after UPSR.

“If your UPSR result is good, your journey to the next exam will be easier,” he added when addressing the SK To’ Eman prayer ceremony for its UPSR students at Masjid To’ Amal Kampung Nyabor here yesterday.

Mohd Chee said all parents wanted their children to excel in their examinations.

He said his dream was to see a graduate in every family in the Kabong constituency.

“Now it is true that every family has a graduate, and some families in Kabong state constituency have more than one graduate,” he added.

At the event, Mohd Chee also handed over a cheque for RM17,000 to the Parent-Teacher Association (PTA) of SK To’ Eman for the purchase of school equipment and to fund school activities.

He also presented the Sarawak Foundation uniform vouchers to eight selected students.
