Focusing on agriculture roads construction

SERIAN: Agriculture roads construction efforts will be the focus as a development agenda for the Tebedu constituency.

According to Sarawak Public Communication Unit (UKAS), Tebedu assemblyman Dr  Simon Sinang Bada said this was to ensure that abandoned lands in the surrounding areas could be cultivated either individually or in groups for commercial crops.

“It is a responsibility that I will take as an elected representative of the people here to ensure that the agricultural sector is further developed while also increasing the income of the villagers,” he said at the officiating ceremony of upgrading the Awah Gawai Tun Abdul Razak (TAR) at Kampung Pichin here recently.

Dr Simon added that there were also needs to implement activities such as motivational talks to empower parents’ role in their children’s education.

Meanwhile, advisor at the Sarawak Premier’s Office (Education), Datuk Amar Michael Manyin Jawong also called on parents to prioritise the education of their children.

“Education that includes academic aspects as well as skills is very important to guarantee the success of an individual in the future,” he said.

At the ceremony, Dr Simon together with Manyin jointly officiated the upgrading works of Kampung Pichin Awah Gawai which was fully completed in August 2021 with a total cost of RM2 million.

Dr Simon also approved the Minor Rural Project (MRP) allocation of RM10,000 for the Village Security and Development Committee (JKKK) of Kampung Pichin as well as the application for the Awah Gawai Waterfront repair work which is expected to be implemented in 2023.
