LUBOK ANTU: Many locals are pleased with the development projects proposed for this district.
Among the much-anticipated ones is the development of the town’s waterfront.
Also, this place could serve as another gateway to Sarawak for Indonesians crossing from Kalimantan.
As such, the district would be included in the state’s post-Covid-19 economic exit strategy just like what have been done for Tanjong Manis, Bintulu, Kuching and other surrounding regions.
All these were mentioned by Chief Minister Datuk Patinggi Abang Johari Tun Openg his official working visit here today (Mar 30).

As a Lubok Antu native, I am very proud of the government’s efforts to develop the waterfront. It will attract outsiders to this town and help to enliven the place. Lubok Antu is famous for its Dayak cultural handicrafts.

Lubok Antu is well-known for the fish it farms in cages. Many people come here just to buy the fish. With the development of the waterfront here, even more visitors will be attracted to the town and this will open up more business opportunities for the locals.

I would like to express my deepest appreciation and gratitude to the government for its efforts to beautify the riverbank of Lubok Antu Town. Personally, I am fascinated with the beauty of the riverbank here. I hope that with the waterfront development, more tourists will be attracted to the town.
