KUCHING: A total of 1,088 sets of food aid were recently delivered to three areas in N12 Kota Sentosa namely, BDC, Lorong 2 RPR and BDC resettlement scheme.

The delivery team led by the Chinese Kapitan of Stampin Boon Voon Min has delivered the food aid to the three areas.

In a statement issued yesterday, each set of food aid comes in the form of a food basket consisting of rice, cooking oil, sugar, flour and biscuit. They were provided by Kuching Resident office and Kuching division disaster management committee.

Kapitan Boon was helping to arrange the delivery to families who were facing difficulties and affected by the movement control order (MCO) implemented to curb the spread of novel coronavirus disease (Covid-19).

“Due to MCO, the delivery has been restricted. In order to reduce the human contact, most of the community leaders sent their food aid basket to the recipient house instead of calling everyone to a destination to collect thus preventing crowd gathering and maintain social distancing,” the statement said.

It added that members of the public are still calling in for the aid and Kapitan Boon promised to seek further assistance from the Kuching Divisional Disaster Management Committee.

At the same time, Kapitan Boon wishes to express his gratitude to Sarawak government for the assistance given during this difficult time. He also urged Sarawakians to remain united and co-operate with government policies.

“Stay at home, fight against Covid-19 and we will win together,” he said.
