KUCHING: Food aid from the Bakul Makanan Sarawakku Sayang assistance was distributed to 1,080 heads of household from 67 longhouses in Kakus.
“We were informed that the Selangau District is under movement control order (MCO) and the longhouses in Kakus are under the district,” said Kakus assemblyman Datuk John Sikie Tayai on Thursday (Jan 21).
“Thus, the Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS) government provided the Bakul Makanan Sarawakku Sayang assistance to help them.”
Sikie said he was glad that the Tatau district was still a green zone, reminding folk not to travel to Bintulu without permission or if not urgent.
“The government has announced stricter standard operating procedures to ensure that we are safe and to keep us healthy.
“Do not hold any event or social gathering for the moment. Remember to wear face mask, practise social distancing, always wash your hands and use hand sanitizers.”
He expressed his gratitude to all members and staff from the Kakus service centre and volunteers for their help in distributing the food aid.
