Food aid for EMCO-affected residents

The Repok Service Centre team delivering the food aid provided for Rumah Sabah Sungai Selangan in Sarikei.

SARIKEI: Repok assemblyman Datuk Seri Huang Tiong Sii has recently contributed food aid to residents at various localities here which have been placed under the enhanced movement control order (EMCO).

Today (May 29), food aid was distributed to residents at Rumah Sabah Sungai Selangan and Rumah Garai Sungai Minus — the former being placed under the EMCO from May 28 to June 10 while the latter has been placed under the EMCO from May 29 to June 14. 

Ten and 18 longhouse doors respectively at Rumah Sabah Sungai Selangan and Rumah Garai Sungai Minus received the food aid, which was delivered by Penghulu Huang Tiong Kang as the assemblyman’s representative as well as the Repok Service Centre team.

On Friday, food aid was also contributed to residents of Rumah Lingga, Sungai Selangan here, which has been placed under the EMCO from May 26 to June 11.

In total, 67 longhouse doors or 352 residents there received the assistance.

The food aid provided included essentials such as rice, sugar, cooking oil, instant noodles, eggs, Milo, salt, and flour.

Tuai Rumah Lingga on behalf of the longhouse residents expressed gratitude to Huang for the assistance.
