SARIKEI: Datuk Seri Huang Tiong Sii contributed food assistance to villagers undergoing the enhanced movement control order (EMCO) in Rumah Panjang Entagau and Rumah Panjang Nanggai.

The Repok assemblyman said the food assistance is to ease the villagers’ burden during the EMCO period.

“A total of 21 doors are affected by the 14 days EMCO so the food aid was immediately distributed by the team at Pusat Khidmat Repok.

“Among the items which the villagers receive are rice, sugar, cooking oil, instant noodles, eggs, Milo, salt, canned food and wheat flour,” he said.

Huang also urged the villagers to strictly adhere to the standard operating procedures (SOPs) throughout the EMCO.

“I would like to remind the district of Sarikei is a red zone. Thus, the people must further enhance the efforts and preventative measures in preventing the spread of Covid-19.

“I hope the villagers in the two longhouses will follow the SOPs as instructed so that it will break the chain of Covid-19 transmission,” he said.

Huang was represented by Kapitan Ling Dien Yong during the simple food assistance ceremony accompanied by Penghulu Huang Tiong Kang, Kr. Anthony Suding and Tr Pitre Ambit.

On a separate occasion, Huang also came to the aid of a person in need by contributing

a patient bed to an 84-year-old man called Lee Meng Yiing residing at Jalan Rentap.
