TATAU: The ongoing food aid delivery to needy communities was carried out at Ulu Kakus, Penyarai and Sangan on Monday.

Food items were distributed to 484 households from the areas.

Kakus assemblyman Datuk John Sikie Tayai reminded the recipients to wait for the items to be delivered to their respective centres by staying at home.

“The food assistance will be sent to your area, no matter how remote the area. The distribution of the aid to people living in the Kakus area is been done in phases.

“So for those who have yet to receive the assistance, I hope everyone can be patient,” he said when contacted recently.

Sikie, who is also the Native Laws and Customs Assistant Minister, said there were 6,243 households in his constituency.

“The distribution process is being taken care of by the State Welfare Department, Tatau District Office, Fire and Rescue Department, and the police.
