MIRI: A food delivery rider sustained serious injuries to his leg and head following a crash at KM9 Jalan Miri-Bintulu on Saturday (Feb 20).

Sarawak Traffic Investigation and Enforcement chief Supt Alexson Naga Chabu said prior to the 8.20pm incident the victim, aged 25, was on his way to the city centre from Taman Tunku to make a delivery.

Preliminary investigation carried out at the scene showed that upon reaching the area, the rider had suddenly lost control of his motorcycle causing it to crash into the road divider.

“The victim is currently being treated at the intensive care unit (ICU) of Miri Hospital,” Alexson said in a statement on Monday (Feb 22).

The case is being investigated under Section 43 (1) of the Road Transport Act 1987.
