BANDAR SIMANGGANG: The Sri Aman Agriculture Department, in partnership with Pertubuhan Peladang Kawasan (PPK), distributed 140 food packs to frontliners as a gesture of appreciation for their efforts during the Covid-19 pandemic.

The Caring Farmers programme was carried out in collaboration with the PPKs of Batang Lupar, Pantu, Engkilili and Lubok Antu, and the food packs contained 5kg of rice as well as agricultural produce such as maize and cucumber.

Assistant Community Wellbeing Minister Datuk Francis Harden Hollis handed over the donations to Dewan Suarah Sri Aman PPV, Dewan Masyarakat MDLA Engkilili PPV and the roadblock at Simpang Engkilili.

“I applaud the Sri Aman Agriculture Department and PPK on behalf of the Sarawak government for taking on the shared responsibility of providing spiritual and material support to frontliners,” he said.

“I hope that the public will follow the authorities’ new standard operating procedures (SOPs) as we combat this pandemic together in the hope that everything will return to normal one day.”
