SIBU: Lanang MP Alice Lau has launched her mobile service centre (MSC) to serve the people in her constituency better and also to establish closer bonding with them.

Lau claimed that her MSC is the first of its kind in the state.

“In order to bring us closer to the people, we have transformed a food truck into a mobile service centre. This is a way for us to go to the people instead of waiting for them to come to us,” she said after its launch yesterday.

The two-term parliamentarian said she and her Lanang team would use the truck to meet the people at least once in two weeks starting this month. Each visit would last three hours, during which time they would be receiving complaints, suggestions and proposals from the people.

They would also give free blood glucose screening.

“We are still working on the schedule and once done would be shared with the public within the constituency.

“But for a start we would focus in areas such as Grand Height Housing Estate and Jalan Salim Area.

“We will go to the rural area once we can find a suitable place to park the truck,” she said.
