KUCHING: A 27-year-old man has been caught for breaking into and stealing from a workshop last Sunday.
The incident happened at 1.30am at a workshop located here at Sejingkat Industrial Estate Phase 1.
The suspect was caught by a Bangladeshi mechanic who was assigned to oversee the security of the premises.
On the day the incident occurred, the complainant was patrolling with two of his friends when he found that the company’s office door was forced open.
He then inspected the workshop and found three unidentified men who were stealing lorry batteries.
Two suspects managed to escape using a vehicle, while the other was successfully apprehended and handed over to the police.
Upon inspection of the stolen items, there were a number of lorry battery units, handphones and cash belonging to the company.
The case and actual loss are still under investigation.
The case is being investigated under Section 457 of the Penal Code.
