KUCHING: A virtual event, ‘RISE 2021: Future Female Leaders Forum”, which will be taking place tomorrow (Mar 13) from 9am to 5pm, will see prominent local and international figures sharing their experience on the issues relating to both genders as well as topics covering leadership skills.

Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin will be presenting a keynote speech titled ‘Women, The Key to a Brighter Future’.

Before that, Nobel Peace Prize Winner Professor Muhammad Yunus will deliver his opening speech on the importance of women-focused policies and how it benefits every nation for the ‘Womenomics: Why It Makes Sense for Countries’ session.

The event is driven by Izzana Salleh, who is the president and chief executive officer of Girls for Girls International, and Senator Jaziri Alkaf, who is the founder of MyProdigy Global.

It will feature 36 prominent speakers from Malaysia and around the globe, such as the United States, Indonesia, Uganda and more.

A special message will also be delivered by the Chief Minister of Johor Datuk Hasni Mohammad on ‘Gender Equality: From Advocacy to Reality’.

On the forum, under the ‘Tough Conversations’ session, speakers comprising Green Ribbon Group president Tengku Puteri Iman Afzan, former world number one squash player Datuk Nicol Ann David, and Clinical Research Fellow and Specialist Trainee Surgeon at Imperial College London Dr Amalina Che Bakri will talk on ‘Sustainable Mental Health in Leadership’.

Meanwhile, during the ‘Action-Oriented Leadership’ session, Brune Poirson, a Member of the French National Assembly, Federal Minister of Tourism, Arts and Culture Malaysia Datuk Seri Nancy Shukri, andTMC Life Sciences Bhd executive director and group chief executive officer Nadiah Wan will share tools, tips and tricks for young leaders as this new age demand new leadership skills.

At the end of the conference, Minister of Women, Family and Community Development Malaysia Datuk Seri Rina Mohd Harun will deliver a speech on ‘Women and Girls at the Centre of Rebuilding Country Economies In A Post-Covid-19 Era’.
