MIRI: Police have arrested four men for their involvement in the throwing of firecrackers and hand flares at a single-storey terrace house at Permyjaya here in the early hours of Sunday (Nov 29) morning.

Miri district police chief ACP Lim Meng Seah said in the 4am incident, the complainant was asleep when he was awakened by the sound of the front gate of his house being opened.

“The complainant went to investigate the disturbance and found two unidentified men on a motorcycle in front of the house. The suspects then threw an object at him and fled the scene.

“After a short while, the suspects came back and threw a five-inch firecracker and took off.

“Later at 5.30am, the suspects returned and threw more firecrackers, which made the complainant to chase the suspects with his car,” he said.

Lim said the complainant managed to knock down the suspects’ motorcycle and detained one of them, while the other escaped to a gas station.
