Four bodies get grants worth RM360k

KUCHING: Mambong assemblyman Datuk Dr Jerip Susil on Wednesday handed over a grant worth RM360,000 to four organisations during a simple ceremony at Mambong Constituency Service Centre.

According to Sarawak Public Communication Unit (Ukas) in a news report on Thursday (Aug 12), one of the recipients, namely Seventh Day Adventist Church of Kampung Emperoh Garung obtained a grant of RM250,000 from the Unit for Other Religions (Unifor).

Three others getting the minor rural project (MRP) grants were Kuching Biperoh Association which was presented with RM50,000 while Sarawak Women’s Association of Kampung Annah Rais branch and Kampung Emperoh Nyiru Grait’s Village Development and Security Committee (JKKK) each received RM30,000.

Dr Jerip, who is also the Transport Assistant Minister, said the funds were aimed at helping the organisations involved to plan and implement their annual activities.

At the same ceremony, he also handed over 50 packs of food baskets to representatives from the Army Veterans Association Mambong branch as help for former army personnel who are affected by the Covid-19 pandemic.
