MIRI: Four houses in three residential lots at Jalan Taman Desa Tudan were destroyed by a fire this afternoon (Jan 1).
The State Fire Department operations centre received an emergency call around 1.29pm and despatched firemen from Lopeng and Miri fire stations to the scene.
But by the time the firefighters arrived at the scene, all four houses and two vehicles were destroyed.
Seven residents, including two disabled persons, in the first two houses managed to escape safely while the residents of the other houses were not at home at the time of the incident.
The fire apparently started from the first residential lot which burned down two houses and two vehicles.
The flames then spread to the second and third residential lots, causing total damage to all the houses. No casualties were reported.
The flames were finally put out at 2.12pm. The cause of the fire is yet to be ascertained.
