BINTANGOR: The Sarawak government, through the Rural Transformation Project (RTP), has allocated
RM750,000 to upgrade four schools in the Meradong constituency.

Datuk Ding Kuong Hiing (pic), who is Meradong assemblyman, said the four schools are SMK Meradong, SK Gemuan, SK Ulu Pet and SJKC Kai Sing.

So far, he is pleased with the implementation of all the projects.

“The project-based RTP grant is an effort by the Sarawak government to ensure that
people in the outskirts are not kept out of the flow of progress.

“That is why I am glad the project is going well,” he said after visiting the Meradong RTP Project yesterday.

He added that the RTP implementation also helped to develop and upgrade the infrastructure of rural schools, especially in Meradong.

Ding noted that the Meradong Public Works Department (JKR) has always been committed to ensuring that the implementation of the RTP project in the area goes smoothly.
