PADAWAN: Four men were arrested on suspicion of illegal substance abuse during a raid at Mile 12, Kuching-Serian Road on Saturday (June 13).
Padawan district police chief Supt Aidil Bolhassan stated that the arrests were made by personnel of Padawan Police Narcotics and Drugs Crime Investigation Division (NDCID) around 10pm in an unnumbered room.
“During the raid, the team found two small plastic packets containing crystalline substance, believed to be syabu, weighing 0.64 grammes.
“All four individuals, aged 31, 37, 38 and 42 years old, were tested positive for the drugs and were taken to Siburan police station for further actions,” he said in a statement.
During questioning, all four suspects admitted to have been involved in substance abuse from 2016 to 2017 but never engaged in the sale of the drugs.
The case is being investigated under Sections 12(2) and 15(1)(a) of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952.
