KUCHING: Sarawak today recorded four new deaths involving Covid-19 infection , bringing the state’s Covid-19 death toll to 334.
The Sarawak Disaster Management Committee (SDMC) in a statement today said the 331st death was a local woman aged 70 years from Kanowit district, who passed away in Sibu Hospital.
The 332nd death was a 63-year-old woman from Sri Aman district. She was confirmed as Covid-19 positive on June 7 and she had comorbidities of diabetes, high blood pressure, dyslipidaemia, and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease.
Meanwhile, the 333rd death was a 67-year-old man from Sibu district, who passed away in Sibu Hospital.
The case was confirmed as positive for Covid-19 on June 3 while the 334th death case was a local woman aged 63 years, who passed away in Sibu Hospital.
She was confirmed Covid-19 positive on May 21 and she had comorbidities of diabetes, high blood pressure, and dyslipidaemia.
Regarding the Covid-19 immunisation programme in Sarawak which commenced on Feb 26, the committee said a total of 261,802 people (nine percent of the total population of Sarawak) have received their first dose of the Covid-19 vaccine, whereas 129,446 people (4.5 percent of the total population) have completed their second dose as of June 9.
