Four suspects nabbed in drug raid

SIBU: Narcotics police here managed to nab four individuals including a woman and seized  RM10,325 worth of drugs in a raid here yesterday. 

State Narcotics Criminal Investigation Department (NCID) chief Supt Sahar Abd Latif said that the four suspects aged between 26 and 50 were arrested following a joint operation.

“According to our investigation conducted at 8.30pm last Friday, we managed to
apprehend a suspect in his 50s at the staircase of a building at Jalan Tuanku Osman here.

“After interrogation, the suspect led the narcotics team   to his rented house where two more men and a woman  were nabbed,” he said.

Sahar also said the four suspects were being detained under Section 39B, Section 39A,  Section 12(2) and Section 15(1)(a) of the Dangerous Drugs Act, 1952.

“The drugs seized were syabu (meth) weighing 68.83 grams. We also seized a Toyota Corolla car,” he said.

Sahar added that the three male suspects had previous crime records while the female suspect had none.

And in Lawas, narcotics police nabbed two  drug  peddlers and seized drugs worth  RM2,300  in a raid here,  yesterday.

Sahar said the two suspects aged 20 and 45 were arrested following a joint operation carried out at a house in Kampung Tengah, Trusan.

“In the raid, police apprehended two suspects and after a thorough search of the house, found 46 straws filled with syabu (meth).

“The total amount of syabu seized weighed 10.40g. The two suspects will be charged under Section 39A (1) of the Dangerous Drugs Act, 1952,” he said.

Sahar also revealed that drug peddlers had been quite active since the middle of this year.

“The older suspect  tested positive for drugs while the younger one  tested negative. The older suspect will also be charged under Section 15(1)(a) of the Dangerous Drugs Act, 1952,” he said.

He added that the two suspects had no previous crime records.
