KUCHING: The Kuching South City Council (MBKS) will be organising free Anti-Rabies Vaccination, Licensing, Microchipping and Subsidised Neutering for Dogs this Sunday (Apr 28).

According to its post, the programme will be held at MBKS Community Hall from 8:30am to 4:30 pm.

It stated that the subsidised neutering is only given to the first 100 MBKS licensed and vaccinated female dogs only.

MBKS also reminded dog owners to quarantine and isolate their dogs for 28 days after vaccination to allow immunity against rabies to strengthen.

“Do not let your dog mix with other animals with unknown vaccination status during quarantine, do not shower your dog for at least a week, and do not let your dog roam freely in public places,” it added.

It also advised dog owners to ensure their dog is always within their house compound/under effective control.

“Please also ensure that your dog is vaccinated against rabies once a year,” it said.
