Free virtual brown bag talk for public

KUCHING: Sarawak Development Institute (SDI) will be organising a virtual brown bag talk on the ‘Sarawak Covid-19 Vaccination Campaign’ on Tuesday (Apr 20), from 2.30pm to 4.30pm via Zoom.

The talk will be delivered by Prof Datuk Dr Andrew Kiyu Dawie Usop, professor of Public Health in the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences of Universiti Malaysia Sarawak (Unimas), and Dr Radziah Mohamad, public health specialist and principal assistant director of the Family Health Development Section of the State Health Department (JKNS).

Dr Kiyu is also chairman of the Sarawak Covid-19 Vaccine Advisory Group (Scovag) in the Sarawak Disaster Management Committee (SDMC) as well as a member of SDI.

As Sarawak enters the second phase of the vaccination, SDI believes it is crucial to provide accurately and up to date information to enhance the public’s knowledge and confidence in this public health campaign.

During the talk, Dr Kiyu will be sharing the need for Covid-19 vaccines, the types of Covid-19 vaccines, and the safety and efficacy of the vaccines.

Dr Radziah will present on the Sarawak vaccination campaign including the communication strategies adopted to keep members of the public informed.
