Chief Minister Datuk Patinggi Abang Johari Tun Openg said the state government recognised the personal sacrifices and commitment of the frontliners, who are directly exposed to the risk of infection while performing their duties.

“As such, we will provide these special monthly incentives for them, covering medical doctors, immigration, police, army and Rela officers,” he told the press at Wisma Bapa Malaysia here yesterday.

He said RM300 would be given to 6,232 medical doctors, nurses and medical personnel working tirelessly at hospitals and clinics throughout Sarawak.

“While RM200 to 535 Immigration officers manning the entry points throughout the state. RM200 to 3,395 police and State Operations Room officers working around the clock to ensure safety and security of Sarawakians,” he said.

Abang Johari added that 590 Armed Forces personnel, who are manning border checkpoints and helping the police in maintaining law and order, would receive RM200 while RM200 would also be given to 590 Rela personnel working around the clock to ensure the safety and security of neighbourhoods.
