KUCHING: The sacrifices and commitment of the frontliners at the Bako Health Clinic vaccination centre (PPV) in ensuring all eligible Covid-19 vaccine individuals get vaccinated were lauded.
Demak Laut assemblyman Dr Hazland Abang Hipni said the contribution by the group has allowed a huge number of residents to be protected through the vaccination.
“The efforts of the PPV staff including doctors, nurses and Malaysian Vaccine Support Volunteers are appreciated as they are putting themselves at risk of Covid-19 while ensuring the smoothness of the vaccine rollout.
“The vaccination outreach programme at Bako Health Clinic PPV aims to make it easier for rural dwellers to get their jabs without having to go to a PPV in the city.
“The staff members here work seven days a week, including Saturdays and Sundays,” he said when met after presenting donations to the Bako Health Clinic PPV on Saturday (Aug 7).
Dr Hazland added that the hard work by the staff at the PPV over the last two months is worthwhile as more people have been vaccinated.
“I am confident that we will achieve the target of administering the vaccines to those who are eligible in Bako,” he said.
