KUCHING: Repok assemblyman Datuk Seri Huang Tiong Sii has called upon all parties to give their full support to Chief Minister Datuk Patinggi Abang Johari Tun Openg in order to enjoy political and economic stability as well as to improve the living standards of the people.
“We should be thankful to our chief minister who is caring and concerned towards the development of Sarikei, especially the construction of the Sarikei-Tanjung Manis road that has been long-awaited by the people of Sarikei,” he said during the United Chinese Association (UCA) Sarikei Division’s second meeting of the 19th session (2019-2022), which was held via Zoom last Saturday (Aug 28).
“As the representative of Repok constituency, I have made efforts to cooperate with UCA Sarikei Division in order to provide the best service to my people,” he said.
During the session, he advised that UCA Sarikei Division needs to understand current political changes and developments.
“The Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS) government practises tolerant administration because Sarawak is a multiracial and multi-religious state,” he said.
On another note, Huang said over the year, the community had to adapt to new norms such as using the Zoom platform for association activities.
“I hope that all parties work together to comply with the standard operating procedures set by the government to prevent the spread of Covid-19,” he said.
