KUCHING: The Parti Pesaka Bumiputera Bersatu (PBB) Women’s Wing said it fully supported the stance of Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS) in not supporting Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR) president Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim as the prime minister.

Party members fully agree and give support to the stance as voiced out by the GPS leader, said PBB Women chief Datuk Seri Fatimah Abdullah.

She was commenting on Anwar’s failure in securing the support of GPS to be prime minister if Pakatan Harapan (PH) and its allies regain its power in Putrajaya.

“We support the stance by Chief Minister Datuk Patinggi Abang Johari who is the president of GPS.

“It is because this is our ethics in PBB, that is to be loyal to our leaders, and the party leader is Abang Johari,” she told reporters after the PBB Women Supreme Council meeting at its headquarters on Saturday (June 20).

On June 19, Democratic Action Party (DAP) and Parti Amanah Negara (Amanah) in a statement said Anwar was trying to obtain the support of GPS to be the prime minister, but failed.

According to the statement the last attempt by Anwar to secure the support of GPS was not successful and the deadline had passed to get the required numbers.
