SARAWAK SKILLS DEVELOPMENT CENTRE

KUCHING: Fresh graduates and unemployed individuals are encouraged to sign up for Sarawak Skills Development Centre’s (PPKS) Expert Craftsman programme which will be fully funded by the government.

“The funding covers both tuition examination fees. Since it is a funded training programme, during the course of the programme (three months), each trainee will receive a monthly living allowance.

“Those with a Diploma and Bachelor’s degree (in electrical, electronics, or mechatronics) between 21 and 35 years old are encouraged submit their applications,” said PPKS executive director Hallman Sabri in a statement yesterday.

He also shared that both theory and practical sessions will be held at the campus in Tabuan Jaya here.

For theory classes, in addition to face-to-face sessions, online sessions will be conducted to enhance the trainees’ learning experience.

“Upon completion of the programme and passing the examination, trainees will be awarded a certificate by HWK Aachen, Germany. This is an affirmation of the quality and relevance of these upskilling and reskilling programmes,” he added.

In view of the emergence of digital economy and Industry Revolution 4.0 in Malaysia, a significant trend will see the increased adoption of automation across the various industry sectors.

“These courses will equip trainees with the relevant skills to contribute to the industry-wide quest to improve productivity and manage costs effectively,” he elaborated.
