KUCHING: A gas cylinder caught fire in a rented room at Carpenter Street on Wednesday morning (Aug 26).
According to the Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) operations centre, a distress call was received around 1.06am.
Following the call, teams from Batu Lintang and Padungan fire stations were deployed to the scene.
Information received from the caller stated that a rented room was on fire above a premises.
However, upon arrival, the teams found out that the fire had involved a gas cylinder.
The fire was extinguished by the firemen and they returned to their station after the situation was deemed safe. No casualty was reported during the incident.
