KUCHING: The Gawai Dayak Bazaar 2024 to be held from May 16 to 26, is expected to receive a total of 30,000 visitors at the 10-day event.

Minister responsible for the Bazaar programme Datuk Henry Harry Jinep said that the host for this year will be the Bidayuh community and it will be held at MJC New Township Batu Kawa here.

“There are 180 stalls available throughout the bazaar. Initially we wanted to include 300 stalls but we could not do it because of the lack of space.

“We have 45 halal stalls, 45 non-halal stalls, 39 stalls to sell various products, 10 stalls selling dry food, and three ethnic booths for Iban, Bidayuh and Orang Ulu,” he said.

He said this in a press conference for the upcoming bazaar programme at the State Legislative Assembly (DUN) building here on Thursday (May 9).

He also said that from May 22 to 24, there will be Gawai night for ethnicities with the likes of Iban, Bidayuh and Orang Ulu.
