KUCHING: Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS) will present a manifesto that can be fulfilled for the people’s gain and not mere ‘election candy’ to sway votes in the coming general election.

In assuring this, Deputy o Urban Planning, Land Administration and Environment Minister Datuk Len Talif Salleh said it is up to the people to cast their votes based on a party’s merits as they understand the basis of a party decide which of them can be trusted.

“The rakyat already know in terms of which party can provide them the best service especially during the post pandemic.

“Furthermore, they also know what to expect (from a certain party) when facing problems and issues that are related to the current world economy,” he said.

He said this when met by the media after officiating the World Migratory Bird Day at the State Library on Saturday (Oct 15).

Asked on the participation of youth aged 18 to 28 years old in the upcoming election, he said it is a non-issue as GPS has been actively involved with them since the last state election through the establishment of the new youth wing 1828.

“This is because our programmes are inclusive. It not only involves 1828 but also all levels of society.

“That is why, in terms of 1828, the GPS government does not face any problem with them as they can see how we administer the state government today,” he said.

Len added that GPS are all geared up and always ready to serve the people at all times.

“With the dissolution of the parliament, we will further mobilise our service centres and our machineries to areas that have low response… We will give emphasis and focus to these areas.

“There are many things that need to be done such as speeding up the development of the areas. Nevertheless, when we look at the achievements (of the service centres under my constituency) thus far, I am proud of them,” he said.
