KUALA LUMPUR: The Health Ministry has suggested a separate lane and voting stations for COVID-19 positive patients to cast their votes during the 15th General Election(GE15).

Its incumbent minister Khairy Jamaluddin said the patients will have to have a separate lane and place, but that was just one of the recommendations.

“(However), the implementation depends on the Election Commission(EC),” the Health Minister told reporters at a press conference after the CRM Trial Connect 2022 conference here today, The Star reported.

Meanwhile, Health director-general Tan Sri Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah said on Oct 13, that individuals who were COVID-19 positive but not in critical condition would be allowed to vote in GE15.

However, he said they would have to comply with strict standard operating procedures which would be announced by the Election Commission (EC).
