BINTULU: The Paediatric Department in the Bintulu Hospital had received a DeVilbiss iGo Portable Oxygen System donated by Perbena Emas Sdn Bhd (PESB), the construction and civil engineering arm of Bursa Malaysia listed engineered solutions provider, Pansar Berhad (Pansar).

A Pansar spokesperson explained that the portable oxygen concentrator is a life-saving equipment which provides continuous uninterrupted oxygen supply to sick children in situations where conventional oxygen supply using bulky and heavy oxygen tanks is not possible.

“As the only dedicated paediatric cardiac service in the state is at the Sarawak Heart Centre based in Kuching, and some cases require urgent surgery at Institut Jantung Negara in Kuala Lumpur, the transfer of sick children suffering from serious heart problems happens frequently.

“Hence, without the portable oxygen concentrator, such patients cannot receive the life-saving treatment they need.

The spokesman added that the donation was in appreciation of the Bintulu Hospital for the work it had been doing.

“Bintulu is a significant part of our operations, and the success of Bintulu directly leads to the success of our Group. We would like to take the opportunity to express our heartfelt thanks to all the frontliners,” he added.

Pansar Berhad, a Sarawak-based company, is primarily involved in providing engineered solutions for customers in the building and construction, marine and industrial, heavy equipment, agricultural, and electrical and office automation industries.

Pansar also engineers and constructs air conditioning and ventilation, water treatment, and fire protection systems. Perbena Emas is the construction and civil engineering arm of Pansar Berhad with a 43-year track record of delivering projects successfully in Sarawak.
