KUALA LUMPUR: The Department of Information and Tourism (DOIT), Taipei City Government is leading three post-Covid tourism promotion and industry-exchange activities in Singapore and Malaysia for five days ending Aug 25.
Commissioner Chen Shu-Hui has unveiled special “Taipei Travel Gift Bags”, “Singapore and Malaysia Tourist Exclusive Package”, and other special deals, aiming at attracting more visitors from Singapore and Malaysia.
“Taipei is just four to five hours from Singapore/Malaysia, and this campaign seeks to entice more travellers to Taipei where wonder-filled holidays are guaranteed,” said Chen.
For first-time Muslim travellers to Taiwan, DOIT recommends classic city attractions such as Taipei 101, the National Palace Museum and Liberty Square.
Meanwhile, for travellers of Chinese descent with a high revisit rate, emerging attractions such as the Taipei Music Centre, Taipei Performing Arts Centre and Rongjin Gorgeous Time are highly rewarding destinations.
According to a statement, the 12 participating enterprises in this campaign include iconic hotels, commercial districts, souvenir sellers, food and drinks, wedding salons as well as cultural-creative brands.
The department emphasised that an extensive array of captivating events will take place in Taipei City, especially the Taipei New Year’s Eve party on Dec 31, capped by the Taipei 101 fireworks show, and the 2024 Taipei Lantern Festival will be hitting the stage in February.
Furthermore, the Taipei City Government has a splendid preferential-deal programme running from Sept 1 to Dec 31.
Tourists can simply purchase a China Airlines ticket for travel from Singapore/Kuala Lumpur to Taipei and receive an exclusive limited-edition “Taipei Travel Gift Bag” containing local-transportation tickets, shopping district gift coupons and hotel stay vouchers. – BERNAMA
